Yeah, I'll e-mail them to you.

Okay... I just checked out my "master list", and it says I have Touchterm 3.7, 3.9, and 7.0... Unfortunately, 7.0 was on a disk that was corrupt and had to be tossed! But there's good news... I'll be receiving in the next weeks or so, several CD's of Commodore software from the former SysOp of Commie Kazez BBS. His list of programs says he has: TOUCH TERM 3.1 TOUCH TERM.PLUS TOUCH TERM3.9 TOUCH TERM7.6 ... so when those CD's get here, I'll make those available. But for now, I'll send you all the versions of CCGMS and Touchterm that I have presently. -Andrew

Thanks! Do you want any of the versions I've got? I think I'm going to contact Bo and see if he wants to add a repository of terminal software to compliment his BBS software collection. If not, I'll put something up.

I would like to find any versions prior to 4.0... but otherwise, no thanks... I think I've got plenty of the "knock-offs". :-) Oh... and it looks like my 6.01 was on a bad disk, too... -Andrew

I think I will jump on this term. prg. bandwagon. I always used CCGMS and have a pretty good collection. But it is scattered. I will put them on on a few disks and d64-em.

I actually do LOVE where this kinda "offtopic" thread went... (And I intended to contribute as well..)
But........ On topic...
I've been trying to bend TCPSER4j to make WinVICE dial over my COM1 modem without success the past couple nights.. I've even send email to Mr. Brain, hoping he can reveal something about the configuration I've missed somewhere...
Has anyone else actually made this work from Windows VICE yet?

65coupei6: I know I need 3, 5, 11.4 and 18 but I would appreciate it if you could send them all to me because the version numbers are authoritative. I'm not even sure which were official versions. It's odd the way so many people hacked up CCGMS.
Thanks to wiskow for sending me a bunch of terminals this morning. My collection is growing by leaps and bounds.

Ok I found CCGMS Version: 11 13.1 18/NS 5.5+ 3.0 4.3 5.0 5.5 7.5 11.4 w/ANSI I'd be interested in seeing these... Mainly 3.0 and the 11.4 w/ANSI. I've never seen CCGMS with ANSI support... :-) If you d64 'em, could you e-mail copies to me? Or post 'em somewhere? Thanks... -Andrew

Thanks to wiskow for sending me a bunch of terminals this morning. My collection is growing by leaps and bounds. No problem, Golan. Did you check out that Superesterm? I checked it out briefly, and it looked pretty good. It includes a "HiRes mode". I'm not really sure what that's for... Maybe there was a BBS program written with that special mode? Maybe once you've collected all these versions from everyone, you could post them somewhere... Or get Bo to add a Terminal section to his site, like you had mentioned before. -Andrew

As soon as I get the versions Marco mentioned I'll put together a zip of everything I've got and make them publicly available. An archive of terminal/communication software is an idea whose time has come. What I really gotta do is get you guys into DarkTerm. Now that's a terminal! Of course, it would be great if there was a DarkStar BBS for you to call and I have a feeling there will be one shortly... <fingers crossed> wiskow: I've been fooling around with SuperRes Term but when I try to enter high-res mode with F7 I just get a multi-coloured screen. I've tried it on a 128 so it isn't like Novaterm where it can use the 128's video memory. I'm at a loss. P.S. Wow, we are mutating topics like crazy lately. This is so much fun!

I'm not sure, but this sounds like a job for TCPSER4j... If I recall correctly, Jim stated that it was designed for both virtual and real serial (modem) connections. That being the case, I suspect that setting up TCPSER4j for the actual modem, and pointing Winvice at it using 127.0.0.1 with the port # configured in TCPSER "should" get the job done. Hmmm.. Got me thinking I may have to try this myself tonight. It's theory, but I think it will work. JEff Close, but no. tcpser4j is designed to handle both IP and real COM ports, but only as DCE ports (Data Communications Endpoints). All of you are overthinking the issue. tcpser(4j) is a modem emu. You don't need one in this case, as there is a real modem available (the cell phone). You just need a way to bridge from IP to a COM port. That is an easier concept. Here's one option (costs money) www.fogsoft.com/TCP_RS232_Converter.htmlIf you're into hacking code, you could probably whip one up in some C or Java: get a socket bind it accept a conn read data from conn write to COM port read data from COM port write to conn. But see, now, Jim... That's where YOU come in <wink wink nudge nudge>! But seriously folks, glad someone else tried and failed before I threw any more time at that project. <ducking> If anyone does come up with a feasable solution, please let me know. I really am dying to see Color 64 in all its original glory -Bryce
