Just Curious.

I've never heard of that BBS so I can't say. PM me the address and I'll look into it and, if necessary, add it to the listing when I do my weekly update. You raise an interesting question though. Should this list be strictly for C= boards or telnet boards in general? Perhaps the list should include all boards with a notation if the board supports PETSCII graphics? I hesitate to add information to the listing (like sysop's name, software being used etc.) as it makes the list unwieldy.

Personally, I'd like to see us stick toward BBSes that are designed around 8bit standards, ie, petscii, C/G. There are many, many telnet boards in operation, I suspect they would be too many to attempt to keep up with.

I agree it should be limited to boards that support commodore graphics and/or heavily support the 8-bit scene.

I too would prefer to stick to C= oriented bulletin boards. I just wanted to make sure there was consensus.

Yowzah. That is the mother of all lists BBS lists. It says it has "over 400 BBS systems" (isn't that redundant?) but many of the C= boards on our list aren't in theirs. Perhaps sysops should visit www.dmine.com/telnet/addbbs.htm and submit their boards. Who knows, it might help generate traffic. It might also be wise to use "C=/name of BBS software" to indicate that the board supports PETSCII. It would make it easier to pick out the Commodore boards. I'll go through the list more thoroughly tonight to see if there are any C= (8 bit) boards we don't know about. It would be cool to find one we hadn't heard of. Thanks for link, Leif.

Golan,
Just in case it's another year before this list is updated, I'd like to get my BBS on it. After careful consideration, I've decided to join the crowd and make my BBS accessable by Telnet. There are still a few bits that I need to aquire before I can make this happen, but I have reserved a telnet address, which is cottonwoodbbs.no-ip.org ... You could list it as "coming soon" if you like, or not... it's up to you... hehehehe... anyway, if you need any further information from me, please contact me privately at wiskow@verizon.net.

The list *will* be published on Sunday, January 21, 2007 and I'm planning on updating, if necessary, and reposting it every month on the 1st. I should have been doing it all along but I've been negligent. I'm hoping folks will forgive me. As for your BBS, even though it isn't, or wasn't, a telnet BBS I was planning on including it on the list because it's a C= BBS and may be of interest. Is it still available via dialup? If so, I'll list it as such with a notation that it will be telnet accessible in the future. If it isn't available via dialup or telnet, I'm going to leave it off the list until you've got it sorted out. If I list coming attractions, the list will get out of control.
