What's Better Than Google Gmail? How about your own C=Mail account at Petscii.com??? All of the features of Google Mail with 2048MB of storage, Google's superior SPAM protection! PETSCII.COM is a participant in Google's "Gmail for your domain" and has a limited number of petscii.com address slots for participants in Petscii Forums. " How do I get one of these?" You might ask... Send email with your requested username@petscii.com to admin@petscii.com with a good reason why you need one of these accounts. Decisions can be swayed in your direction with a little creativity and perhaps a including just how much C= hardware you actually own, use, and what you do with it. All final decisions will be based on the use of BASIC 2.0's RND command, so it might be wise to include a good seed value. (And of course hope that someone else isn't using your requested name.) Jeff

Is there any way you could tie this into something like your Temporal Vortex BBS perl script, so that we can read and send email from our C64s?

Petscii Email support for the Commodore is starting to take shape! Creating an interface into Gmail's system has been a bit tricky with all the security they've built into the system, however now I'm able to log in and veiw my messages. Email is going to be a critical part of my own "put up, or shut up" test of using retrocomputers for required functions. Still a few PETSCII.COM email accounts for those who want them.. Jeff BTW: I was just thinking... 2048MB should be enough to store the entire gaming library for the 64. hehehe..

Do you plan to make it possible to access non-petscii.com Gmail accounts from Temporal Vortex? Being able to read/write email from your BBS would be cool but I don't want to use up a petscii.com address as I already have a few email accounts (that are hard enough to keep track of). You know, with the multi-user nature of Temporal Vortex and your hooks into Gmail and Google etc., it may well end up becoming more of a community hub than Q-Link.

Technically speaking I've already got Gmail access with my software, but the @petscii.com mail is high priorty. Once it works correctly then I can open the login name to allow gmail access as well. At the moment I can list messages and read messages, but it isn't very pretty yet. As soon as I can work my brain around the parsing required to get some petscii formatting and color in for easier reading then I will open the command to public access. Petscii.COM forums are already a community hub, I'm just trying to bring the BBS side up to the same speed. Jeff
