VICE 1.17 is now available. See www.viceteam.org/ for more information. There are binaries for DOS, Windows, Solaris 6-10, QNX, Acorn RISC OS and even BeOS but not for OS X. <sigh> I'm posting in this forum because a lot of people seem to be using VICE to connect to Q-Link. Please post your results if you give 1.17 a try...

As they specifically comment on userport rs232, I will be exploring this!

Winvice 1.17 worked fine for me at userport Rs-232 at 1200 baud.
Tried to get the 2400 baud patch working with Winvice. Closest thing I got was setting the following:
Enable ACIA, RS-232 Device 1, NMI
Enable RS-232, RS-232 Device 1, 1200 or 2400 Baud
With these settings I can get to main screen and pick people connection, then a question comes up: F1 People Connection F3 Super Q!
(This must be from either DSC or 0011 - haven't checked - since these were only files changed)
When I hit F1 for People Connection, the screen starts to show room, then "Your Line is Broken to Qlink Hit F5 to return to Basic"
So, don't know if 2400 baud will work with Winvice or if it even should.
Sincerely,
Jeffery S. Stone jefferystone@yahoo.com

This is something how with VICE the 2400 patch does this. Connects but then after the 9 main screen it is not connected.
I guess VICE thinks it's using a real modem then after the 9 main screen it switch to the Swift-Link or Turbo232. I don't know.

Hi i been using Vice 1.117 to connect to qlink for almost 1 week now and i have had almost no problems at all, 2 crashes but i bet you that they are windows xp related, not vice's fault, i put together a qlink vice reloaded setup file that installs qlink reloaded, vice 1.17 and a autorun file that has all the settings for qlink goodness online, well have to go www.drosemodels.com/qlinkvicereloaded.zip
