I had never heard of this site before, but it's apparently been around for a few years. It's a site that keeps track of BBS's that are actually up and running, saving users the hassle of browsing through outdtated BBS lists to find the one or two that work. All that's required of the SysOp is to have a small file running in the background on their PC that will ping the BBS Finder server every 5 minutes. I already have the DynDNS Updater, Apache HTTP Server, and BBS Server running on the PC that my C128 is connected to for my BBS, so I figure, why not one more? Anyway, this might be a good idea for SysOps of active BBS's to register on. It certainly couldn't hurt, and registering here may actually increase caller traffic! Check it out at bbsfinder.com/-Andrew

Sounds neat, but ... 5 minutes? Sounds excessive to me. Maybe once a day would be reasonable...

Ya, but it's probably a very small amount of data pna. Agreed though, every five minutes sounds a little much.....
I'm going to register madworld, it can't hurt... I mean, my 4 callers are getting lonely.....
