Ok, Time for some beta testers.... I've got a very basic Gmail reader on Temporal Vortex Now.. (At least it seems to work for me... ) Here's what you'll need to know to try it out... First of all, you must turn on the POP mail feature of your Gmail account. This can be done by going to "settings" --> "Forwarding and POP" and "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on" Note that last step.. If you enable "all popmail" you will be very sorry.. Mine was downloading in 40col for several mins. Once you've done this, send yourself a couple emails and log into Temporal Vortex. The Gmail option is hidden, don't look for it on the menu. Just hit the $ and Enter and you should see the screen. You can use your Gmail account with your normal name/login. You can also use your @petscii account by simply adding the @petscii.com to the username. Both will work fine. SOME NOTES: 1. Expect Bugs... Report them here please 2. Google POP messages read once, then disappear. (Don't worry they will still be in your inbox.) 3. Expect Bugs... Report them here please.. It's barebone right now, but it's pretty and seems to work so load up a CG term, and give it a shot. Temporal Vortex BBS bbs.petscii.com:6400 Jeff

email me and I'll send you an invite for either a @gmail.com or @petscii.com account. Both are gmail and both work with this interface.

Hey, it worked great!
Only problem - when the incoming message is in HTML format (such as when sent from Outlook Express with the "Rich Text" mode on, it's quite a mess when reading it. I'm thinking there's not much that could be done. When I sent myself a "Plain Text" message, it came out perfect.
Nice stuff Jeff! I used CGTerm, but I need to try this with my real C64 / TelBBS setup. Gmail on my C64. What a wondrous world.

That'd be an interesting project, a program to strip the html code off and maybe replace it with cml code for emails...
