I thought it would be cool to be able to click on a telbbs link from the internet and launch cgterm to connect to the board. So after a couple hours of poking away I've got it to work. This is tested under Windows XP, you should be able to click on a TelBBS (as soon as I update the list) and connect with cgterm. It's pretty easy to setup. Here's the instructions. www.petscii.com/telbbs/telbbs.zipThis will have you install the CGTERM program into a folder @ c:\cgterm -- After that, add the two files from this zip, double click on the "telbbs.reg" file to add it to your registry and you are all set. Ok, for some reason this forum won't allow the new protocol inside messages, so I've modifed the BBS list at telbbs.petscii.com to allow us to click to connect after you install the above. Here's the direct link: www.petscii.com/telbbs/listings.htmlLet me know if you find any bugs. Jeff

Not a bug per se but you should edit the list so that both ports of The Lost Caverns are clickable. Also, it's a little hard to read. Perhaps you could you use a larger font size?

It was pointed out that I omitted someone... Oops! Petscii Playground has been added to the list on my site.

The next step would be to have CGterm implemented in Java, so you could connect from right inside your browser ;-)

And how about an OS X version? ;-)

And how about an OS X version? ;-) An OS X version of what? CGTerm is available for OS X and configuring OS X to launch CGTerm when you click on a "telbbs" link is relatively simple.

By default OS X redirects requests for telnet:// to Terminal and while you can modify the system to direct them to CGTerm, it isn't advisable. It isn't that much more complicated to create a .cgtermrc with your preferred phonebook entries and load CGTerm manually when you want to connect to a BBS. With that being said, if you're married to the idea you can use RCDefaultApp to make the necessary changes to the system. Be careful though. If you're not 100% sure about what you're doing, you can mess things up quite badly.
