Hi All,
Well it's been several months since I "disappeared". I had ADDiXiON BBS running on Centipede, but could not get the system running in a stable state with TCPSER and my Turbo232 or the Swiftlink.
Has anyone gotten file transfers working via a userport interface, such as the VIC1011A or a home built MAX233 using TCPSER? I noticed brain's up to version 7, but am not familiar with what improvements have been made.
BTW, I dropped out of the scene because of frustration - I spent a lot of $$$ on hardware. I've also been really busy with starting my own business.
I've got a C128 and a 105MB Lt Kernal I'd love to put back online, but it'd have to use the slower 2400 userport to work. I had great luck with this setup before, except that file transfers would not work.

I actually have a VIC1011A here (just found it).
I will test the setup and see if transfers work.

Sorry, been busy, and was hoping IceB would test, since he has your setup, and is trying out Centipede.

brain, did you get a chance to test file transfers with the vic 1011a yet?
I just dusted stuff off this morning, am having trouble just getting the vic to work with the 1011a, getting lots of framing errors.

brain, did you get a chance to test file transfers with the vic 1011a yet? I just tried file transfers on my BBS last night. I'm using BBS Server on the PC side. The BBS uses user port interfaces on both nodes. I have an Omnitronix interface on one node, and a Peak interface on the other node. I was able to upload several files from another C128 with a simple home-brew user port RS232 interface running Novaterm 9.6. Granted, it was at 2400 bps so transfers took a while, but it worked! ;D I tried using both Punter and Y-Modem Batch protocols. Both work fine. If I get a chance, I'll try it out with Tcpser. -Moise The Lost Caverns BBS lostcavernsbbs.dyndns.org:6001 lostcavernsbbs.dyndns.org:6002
