I must be on a lucky streak. I got home from the beach (which was totally missed by Hurricane Ivan, we had great weather all week) and took a look at my Lt. Kernal, and sure enough, the hard drive was dead. Figuring I had nothing to lose, (the hard drive wasn't even spinning) I took the screws out of the top of the drive and turned it on, and gave the platter a spin with my fingers and it unlocked and started spinning! I put the cover back on and hooked it up and have actually managed to get two full backups with no errors of every LU. I'm getting ready to leave for a week long RedHat training class, when I get back I will hook up my other Kernal and partition it and put the data back on, and the Riktronics BBS should be back up and running by the end of the weekend. With no data loss! So we can rejoin the awesome game of Murder Motel where we left off.
Hooray!

Hey, that's great news. Good luck with that. I was kinda missing the board myself. Wish we had more players for Murder Motel though, that way it wouldn't be just me and Smith killing each other The Brain helped me get my BBS config problems worked out (basically me thinking I was smarter than the docs and the cable was at fault. Loaded a new modem config file in Image, I'm telnetting in 100% ok with no dropped characters. Hope people can spare a minute and call. Testing a lot of stuff so there are errors, hopefully no show-stoppers though.
