Hey all. Just wanted to make a quick post from beautiful North Myrtle Beach to let everyone know that the BBS is down, in case you were wondering why you could never connect anymore. We had a storm (remnants of Hurricane Frances) that knocked the power off, and it seems it fried the Lt. Kernal depite the UPS. This was Thursday, and I didn't notice until Saturday morning as I was packing up to go on vacation. I'm here for a week and home for one day and gone for another week, so it will take a minute. So, any LTK experts? When the computer is booted instead of the normal two long blinks it sits there and blinks fast for several times and then stops and then blinks like an error blink every so often. I have two more host adapters and another LTK, so hopefully I will be able to patch something together. I actually hope its the host adapter and not the HD, since I haven't been backing up as regularly as I should.. its probably been a month and I have had several new callers, plus a pretty cool game of Murder Motel going... Thanks to all my regualr callers, and I'll be back soon!

Thanks for the post. I am glad that this is a temporary thing. Thanks for letting us know. I am always afraid when I try to connect to a BBS and nothing happens and have NO CLUE as to what happened. Dark Vulcan

I am glad that this is a temporary thing. Thanks for letting us know. I am always afraid when I try to connect to a BBS and nothing happens and have NO CLUE as to what happened. Don't forget, even if the C64 side is down, BBS Server can be left running on the PC and set to "Not accepting calls". A short explanation of the problem and expected downtime can be set as an 'away' message.
