I use CG Term frequently because I'm in a windows environment most of the day. However, I much prefer to use my real C64, VIC1011A rs232 interface, and radio shack null adapter (RS26-1496C). I use BBS Server or TCPCom as the telnet gateway software.
I am very anxious to try out Brain's Win32 version of TCPSer as it supports hardware flow control for higher speeds, and has been tested with various protocols.
CG Term is spotty with file transfers right now, so hopefully MagerValp will spend some time on that.

It depends where I am. At work I just use Hyperterminal, that works OK.
At home, I only just in the last week got enough parts to connect using my "main" C64, a Batteries Included RS-232 interface, and my laptop. Before then I used CGTerm.
What I'm thinking of doing next is to make my 64HDD box dual-boot between DOS and Windows 98, so I don't need the laptop. Then put BBS Server in the Win98 Startup group so it starts up right away so I can continue to run it headless.
Then my 64HDD box will serve two purposes, just not both at once. Still need to sort out how to switch boot modes with no keyboard/monitor attached.

When I am at work I use CGTerm, when I am at home depending on what I'm doing I either use CGTerm from XP or CCGMS from my 64. I'm using an rs-232 adapter based on the MAX233 chip.
