Hi all - Just wanted to try one more thing before I return the Commodore 128. I am running two instances of BBS Server 1.0 (to be released soonish), each in their own folders. The one hooked up to the C64 and EBBS though COM2 is on Telnet Port 23. The one hooked up to the C128 and Centipede through COM1 is on Telnet Port 128. You can call both simultaneously, and I'd like to have a few test calls to both to see that it's robust. Plus it's neat to show off. telnet://209.151.141.59:23telnet://209.151.141.59:128One problem I'm aware of: On the C64, the BBS doesn't hang up unless you close the Telnet client. That's because I'm using a weird Batteries Included RS-232 adapter and it has some differences to the VIC-1011A that I haven't dug into yet. Please report any strange things you notice with this setup in this thread. I'll keep it running for a couple of days.

Oh yeah, if any of you want to try something similar: -There are bugs related to the COM port initialization in all previous versions of BBS Server, so this probably won't work. Fixed now in 1.0 . -If you get weird comm "device not open" errors, check your COM Port IRQ settings in your BIOS. For some reason, both of mine were set to IRQ3. Changed COM2 to IRQ4 and now all is well. As far as I can tell, my PC's been like that since I bought it.

Leif,
Tried something interesting... Used two copies of cgterm to attempt to connect to both BBSes at the same time. Got an answer on the second one, but it wouldn't let me get passed the 1or2 option and kept sending a "Garbage" line..
Have you tried this yet?

I haven't tried it with CGTerm, but I am able to use two instances of the command-line Telnet in Windows 2000 to connect to both simultaneously. I just tried this from my office as well, so it works from the "outside". Actually, because my company firewall blocks port 128 (they block everything except 23, 80, and 25? for email), I'm not able to use CGTerm directly - I have to telnet to my ISP's Unix shell account and then telnet to the BBS from there. Will check it out.

Two copies of cgterm, could connect to both BBS's simultaneously, no problem. Are you using CGTerm 1.6? Can you give some more details, maybe a screenshot?

Ok, Tried it tonight with a Commodore 64 running Novaterm and my copy of CGTERM 1.6 on the PC. I was able to log in to both systems... Your computer room had to be buzing and beeping as I was hitting chat requests on both systems <GRIN>
I will try two copies of CGTERM again and let you know the results... (If your EBBS ever resets from idle timeout!)

Leif, Tried it again with two copies of CGterm 1.6.. Was able to log in with the first one to EBBS, but here's the screen shot when I attempted the second one at the same time. Interesting enough, I was able to login from a 64, and CGTERM at the same time... Could this be a CGTERM issue? Jeff

Try using CGterm and regular telnet....
In fact, I will.
It must a problem with CGTerm, as I was able to connect CGTerm/telnet no problem.
