I just got through watching it on google video. I have heard of the show before but have always missed it when it was being aired on TV. I can't really say that I learned anything I didn't already know, but it was interesting seeing some of the faces instead of just reading about them.
The interesting thing is that it appears this show was made in the mid 1990's and so it is interesting looking back on it. The show left off with Apple being in trouble and predictions that internet appliances would be the wave of the future. Well, we can see how that turned out over 10 years later.

I had seen some of these on youtube before. It is realy cool to look back and see the people that changed the world, and how the "nerds" took over

Oh yeah. Another interesting thing I learned it how early the Apple II entered the market compared to the C64. The movie made no mention of Commodore at all, which I think was terrible of them being what a big market segment they had. And after some quick research online I found the Apple II was released in 1976 and the PET was released in 1977. So I would say the Apple II was far superior to the PET, but I always imagined the Apple II as a competitor to the C64 and 128. And, of course, I always found it to be inferior. But now I see why, the C64 was several years ahead of the Apple II.

I too always thought it was an inferior competitor to the C64. Now I know better. However, that being said the versions of the Apple ][ that came out after the C64 weren't that great. I am amazed at it's longevity however. As far as no mention of Commodore goes, that has always been a sore spot with me and my fandom of Robert X. Cringely. He can be the Michael Moore of computer history sometimes.

If you liked Triumph of the Nerds, you might want to check out Nerds 2.0.1 - it's Cringely's second documentary on computing.

Thnaks for the tip. I'm currently working my way through The BBS Documentary. Also a classic! I watched the entire set last year - I might have another go at it this year.
