I've been playing with userport data transfer on both the VIC20 and the C64. It seems that the deta transfer rate of the VIC20 is a bit (no pun intended) faster than the C64 running the same program. Very interesting... Any VIC heads got some info that confirms this?

Is a bit what, faster, slower, something else? The VIC-20 is slightly faster than the 64 so that would be my guess.

I type while I think.... bleh... yeah, the vic appears to be faster, by quite a bit.. I'm going to do some speed tests and see if I can pin down just how much faster. Jeff

Considering how much more efficient the design is on the VIC-20 compared to the C64, I wouldn't be surprised if the VIC could do 9600 baud on its userport. However, I've never even used a VIC online before, nor seen a terminal program for it. I imagine with a RAM expander and using the emulated 40-columns, it might make a decent terminal.
