Hello, I just received an email from Cypress about their new product. I have not even read everything but I can not resist buying one. As I am not proficient in "C" nor Assembly programming, this one claims it does need one to know the above language... here is the link: www.cypress.com/firsttouch/Just wanted to let everyone interested to know. GMoon at one time got me (even gave me one) Cypress POC but I did not go further because the software for programming it cost some $$ and other ucontroller projects.

Hey, racob, how ya doin'? I received the email also--looks very interesting, yes? (incidentally, the older boards can use the free "PSoC Express" software, which doesn't really require any programming expertise, as it's a graphical programming environment. I mentioned it in the old thread: jledger.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=microhacking&action=display&thread=1160567286While I found it's usefulness somewhat limited, I gotta admit it was cool programming a microcontroller project, complete with LCD output, in under a 1/2 hour....maybe it's improved by now?)

GMoon,
nice to hear from you.. actually I have been playing with the basics that came with the "PSoC E" that you gave me.. I have been converting old Palm Pilots as LCD displays ..google "LCDSmart". I have a lot of the old Palm Pilots being tossed out that I was able to used them for this purpose..

That's what I thought when I read the email...heck the price is not that bad but the shipping cost kills you
I opted for a "ground" shipping. Cypress are quick. Tthey just emailed me back that it has been shipped...well another thing to play with but maybe this time it will be easier for "newbies' like me...

Let us know how it goes--post some of your efforts, once you get up and running.
They are rather intriguing...
