Well, between the nice snow storms we've had here in NE Ohio, and getting hit hard by cold/flu ,I cleared off my corner table, and set up a spare 35" TV to spend some quality C= gaming time. (Since cold/flu and cold weather aren't a good mix) I loaded up Rockford last night for a little Boulderdash style gaming, and promptly had my seat taken as soon as I got up by my 8 year old daughter, who's decided that she likes Commodore gaming over Runescape. (Ha! I've won!.... Or did I?) Tonight she demonstrated her hand/eye coordination with "Master of the Lamps" -- That is, until she became frustrated with level 3 and was carted off to bed.. So... A new 64 addict is born, and I now get to wait for bedtimes to get access to my 64.. Good Stuff.. Jeff

You should make her a little pink and girly DTV/Hummer box with her favorite games flashed to it. Maybe you could even have her help work on it with you. Then maybe she would blossom from 64 addict to 64 hacker. :-)

The only way I was ever able to win that game was by a little cheat I invented about 20 years ago. I took a piece of masking tape and stuck it across the bottom of the screen. As the genie would puff out his notes, I'd write the order (1, 2, 3, etc..) below the correct gong. So when it was my turn, It was easy. My biggest trouble was accidently keeping the joystick pushed left or right when trying to hit the fire-button to warp to the next gong. So what would happen is my little man would start hitting the gong even though I didn't want him to and it would take too much time and the note would get me.
My little girl (who just turned 4 last weekend) has always been interested in my DTV setup. She likes to play with it in BASIC by moving the cursor around on the screen and typing the few words she knows how to type. As for the cursor keys, it is a good thing it isn't a real C64, or it would be a lot harder for her to figure out.

My 5-year-old niece has become highly skilled at Trolls & Tribulations. That game's HARD! She's REAL GOOD at it too! Just using the keyboard she jumps, shoots, runs like a pro. I'm amazed. Then when she's done, she hits ALT-F4 and leaves the PC for the grownups.
