Anyone have any d4m files? Or know how they are created? You've hit upon one of the more obscure Commodore-related file extensions. A file with a .d4m extension is to the CMD FD-4000 what a .d64 is to the 1541. It's a disk image made with that particular floppy drive. You can learn more about the format here and you can use 64Copy to convert .d4m images to other more common formats, if you're so inclined. I don't have files in that format and in fact, I've never seen one in the wild. As for how they're created, I think that's obvious. If you don't mind my asking, why the interest in .d4m files?

Thank you, I happen to know what .d4m files are. And no it isn't obvious how they are created. Even if it was obvious I couldn't create one myself, as I only own the Fd2000.
Also thanks for the pointer, but that document doesn't actually discuss the d4m format. I am assuming the format is very similar to the d2m, but that doesn't help me much. For example if the partition sector at the very end? Are there 64 paritions available?
As for what the interest is, I want to add d4m support to DirMaster v2.
But I need a file to test it with.
If these formats aren't in the 'wild' then who actually uses them? Or does anyone? If you can enlighten me on how they are created, and or get me a sample that would be awesome.

Thank you, I happen to know what .d4m files are. Pardon me. It was not my intention to condescend. I gave an explanative answer because you're not the only person reading this message board and others may be curious. Perhaps I should have replied, "No. Yes."? I don't wish to risk offending you further by telling you things you may already know so I'm going to bow out. Good luck with your project.
