I thought I saw a thread on this, but don't see it right now. Anyway, I am having a little keyboard trouble. but let me explain the scenario. I have been using my DTV just fine for months now. But this week I decided I hated the built in joystick so much that I would take the circuit board out and put it in a jiffy box. Then I'd have plenty of room to add all the extra ports I wanted. Annyway, after doing this the keyboard no longer works the same. When I power up the DTV the keyboard acts erratic and types a lot of KVKVKVKV and after 10 seconds or so I can get it to work correctly. After much thought I think I realized what the difference is between then and now. Before the keyboard was always getting power even when the DTV board was off. Now I have it getting power at the same time as the DTV board. I actually thought that was an advantage because used to when I turned the power off and back on, the RAM wouldn't reset because the feedback through the PS/2 port. So I was looking forward to a proper reset. Now I'm thinking I need to rewire it so that the keyboard is always powered again.

Well, I have 2 DTVs (ntsc) with a keyboard. One having power all the time, and the other with power only if I turn on the dtv (with the switch at the front side). Both versions are working fine....So, I think it doesn't matter when/where to get the power for the keyboard.

Try pressing reset once. I've found that it behaves this way on the initial powerup, but not on subsequent resets.
