Hmm... One has to become a member in order to download your demo. Is it that good? ;D

Couldn't you just give the URL for the file rather than a URL that points to a discussion thread that has the URL for the file?

Roland - drop me an email, I'd love to compare notes on the V1, and send you a copy of the V1 demo I showed off at SWRAP.

Has anybody seen this yet? I want to see it but currently I don't have my commodore stuff setup and just the process of moving an item from the internet to a CBM floppy disk takes 20 minutes for me. So before I waste my time, should I see this? I'm assuming it takes advantage of extra features of the DTV and I cannot run it on my C64 emulator?
I wonder when VICE will emulate the DTV?

I really do recommend the XA1541-cable: sta.c64.org/xa1541.htmlWith the program cbm4win the files are copied in a jiffy.

I wonder when VICE will emulate the DTV? Jeri once showed me the DTV game selection program running under VICE, which was pretty interesting. But I don't think it uses any special DTV modes. There are some people who have "enhanced" VICE to give it more colors etc. For example, this color enhancer. So anything is possible, if someone takes the time to do it.

Roland, that was very cool. Thanks! Who needs an Amiga? Six, is your demo from SWRAP available?

Can you explain a bit more about what the mod did? Also, do you have a copy of it? I would like to see it in action.

I never tried it, but based on the description and screenshots, it enhanced the 64's graphics by interpolating/antialising between pixels (especially in the 2x mode), giving smoother color transitions, and an overall less blocky look. You could contact the thread starter via Lemon PM for details.
It was just an example of how people have augmented VICE.

That's really interesting. I will contact the guy and if I'm able to get the software, I'll post about it here in case anyone else wants it. Thanks.

Okay.. I setup my DTV again today. Darnit, the keyboard didn't work anymore, took it apart and found a solder joint came loose and had to fix it. but that is beside the point. I loaded it up and the first time I played it I noticed the nice color in the king-tut or whatever it is graphic. Unfortunatly, the "moire" effect we've all talked about was terrible on this graphic. Mostly on the blues. Anyway, here is the odd thing. Maybe I'm going nuts but the first time I watched it and saw the color bars scroll up the screen I was thinking how nice it looked (except for the interference pattern typical of the DTV) and I let it run for a while. But then after a while I noticed the entire screen was bending inwards at the top of each color bar, causing the king-tut graphic to distort along with the color bars. Now I do not know if it is my monitor or my DTV causing that yet. The only thing I have connected is a Sony LCD panel (the kind that goes to the playstation, see my mod here: galaxy22.dyndns.org/shuttlecraft/psone_lcd/index.html ) but it looks fine on everything else. Anyway, does this demo use anything special about the DTV besides the nice shaded color-bars? I'm not actually sure if the graphic is a standard C64 graphic or if it is enhanced for the DTV. It looks nice either way.
