I'm surprised I haven't seen any demos or games coded specifically to take advantage of the new capabilities of the DTV. I know there are a few littke 2K demos that show color bars and stuff like that. But I sort of expected by now we'd see some mega-demo or something. I can't complain since I'm not the type of person who has time to code stuff like that myself. But I know there are tons of people out there doing that sort of thing. Am I just not looking in the right place?

Probably for the same reason that there's no discussions about coding on it. No-one seems interested but me.

Nah, many of us are still here... We're just waiting for the new release to get our hands on the new signal lines. I'm more of a hardware junkie than a demo junkie myself... We're here... Quietly pacing... Jeff

To be fair, there are really many reasons why a serious DTV scene hasn't sprung up around V1. Firstly, it's only NTSC, most of the real hardcore coders are using PAL. Secondly, for me, there were some enhancements planned for the first DTV that for various reasons didnt eventuate. This is going to change with the upcoming version, with some really funky new features. So, for at least six months there have been some ppl at least planning to make some DTV demos but are waiting on the next version which is just much more attractive if you want to play with something new. That said, if I'd managed to get the first version of the DTV and used it with a tv capture card here in australia, I would've had a hack at that as well. Unfortunately I relied on someone over there to send me a few, and they still haven't arrived Anyway, to sum up, DTV V1 just not so exciting, DTV V2 is bound to get a lot more interest in the PAL world and then you'll see some demos. Besides all that, respect to Six for having a go at it anyway when no-one else was, and to the group of hardcore hackers at the center of all this that are quietly developing a new future for the ol commie, potentially. Cheers, Damian

Well, I hope when the PAL people get some cool stuff made, that it will work on the NTSC versions of the DTV V2 also..
