I guess you can use the spreadsheet data that all send to you to combined it in to one and see what files and comments are duplicated right? Maybe you should add how menny people made comments on a file. Some could have more comments then others.
You want all are files along with the spreadsheet data uploaded to you at the gmail address all in one .zip file?
I will work on it. But it will take lots of time. Days. Even weeks I guess.
But I guess this is the best way to get it all organized like it was on the old Q-Link.
I am not sure if it would work out if you just had the uploading working and let people upload.
If people have old comments on the files save there is no way to restore them with out typing them in and that would get the date and time wrong. So this is a good way for that at lest to have it in a spreadsheet so you can do it.
I am sure it will take a long time and when it gets done it will be very nice to have all them files back and I hope a lot saved the comments on them. That was one of the best things on the old Q-Link how people could leave comments on any file. That's that part that is truly lost when Q-Link switched to AOL. The files people must still have because they uploaded them in the first place. It will just be hard to rebuild it but with time it should and even more. I am sure there will be a .D64 section some time too to add new things like this to the download.

The idea to to collect both the spreadsheet and files into the submitted .zip files. These will be sent over to Jim for addition to Qlink. The idea is to get everyone "on the same page" as far a submittion of files is concerned so that Jim will know exactly what to expect and hopefully can write a quick routine ot parse out the data from the spreadsheets /or conversion to "comma delimited" and get the file section up and running.
This will save time in the long run with people attempting to upload files to create the library.

So how is it going? Any one send a .zip file yet?
Maybe it be better just to get the upload working then let people start to upload. That's how they must of started it on the old Q-Link. I am sure it took years to get it up to what it was.
It's so very bad Q-Link just deleted all them files and comments!
