Looking at some old disk. I found this one that if I load it up it says: *** MUSIC CONNECTION LINKER *** I guess this patches your Q-Link disk so it can play music in people connection. I think this music connection was before superQ. You can get the D64 here: rayday.no-ip.com/internet/Commodore/mywebpages.comcast.net-raymondday/q-link/QL-MC-PATCH.zipI don't know if this will help with the new Q-Link or not. One thing it bought back that I for got about it says "MUSIC MODULE BY MARK DICKENSON" I for got about that. He is the one that made the stereo player.

When you run the program, it asks for a MUSIC CONNECTION disk. This is very interesting indeed... Anyone know of such a critter or better yet have a d64?

I have a Music Connection 1541 disk. I have on the label "Q-LINK MUSIC CONNECTION" I made it a .D64 and zipped it up at: rayday.no-ip.com/internet/Commodore/mywebpages.comcast.net-raymondday/q-link/Q-MUSIC-CON.zipIt has some MIDI text file on it too along with the Q-Link font. I am not sure these two files went with it but they were on the disk. Music Connection was before SuperQ. I don't remember Music Connection very good. I do remember SuperQ being a very nice update. I remember putting the SuperQ disk in I think just before you sent to people connection. I played name that tune a lot back then.

Hey all,
I used the music connection patch disk by putting it in the drive before hitting people connection. When it ran I got a music connection splashscreen instead of people connection.
It went to the lobby and showed the users, however, it said *Please wait a moment (or something similiar) at the top of the screen where it normally said Lobby.
The function keys also did not function, but I could type chat messages. The first message I typed filled my screen with a bunch of characters, but then eventually cleared up.
So, you can take the music connection patch disk or the new music connection disk ray put up and try it on qlink. Just place this disk in drive before hitting people connection.
Sincerely,
Jeffery S. Stone jefferystone@yahoo.com

Wow I remember that screen with the Piano keys all around the 4 sides of the screen and in the middle the music connection words. This does work in people connection. But like you said when it 1st comes up the screen fills with junk were you read text. But you can type. The font is changed too! I can press Control C to get a right side up happy have not side ways like this This my be the way for Jim to start to get SuperQ to work. Get this working 1st. I guess he will need at lest one SID songs uploaded to Music connection can play. Here is the commands for music connection. I had this old file telling the commands. Yes at the top it will say This my be a good starting point for Jim to get SuperQ working. Get this working 1st that just how they did it back on the old Q-Link. Music Connection came before SuperQ.

Mmm, much is known about SuperQ between Jim and I. Of course, it adds a NEW protocol on top of layer 2 and 3 as we currently know it. So, we must play.

Doubt any of the // commands would work without serverside support. Here's a screenshot of me using it as described above. Actually works fine once the garbage clears. Function keys are dead as promised, except hitting F7 brought the Qstar on (as seen in the photo) and it is happy to sit and change colors. www.jbrain.com/vicug/gallery/qlink/musicconnectJeff

I am sure that only a QDJ can do the "MUSIC CONNECTION COMMANDS" I guess that is why Jim made it so you can't use a new name QDJ now with out getting the OK to use it.
I think I got the commands list from QDJ Katy.
I found a old note from May 11, 1991 that said "I went to Leonette's about 9:30pm and seen her control name that tune on Q-Link. It was neat and fun. I left about 1:00am"
I barely remember that.

It looks like the linker disk is to link the music files.
MUSIC TLK AMY ERICA
The way Q-Link did it you had to link the files you just could not copy them. So I guess there a file or files you downloaded to get music connection then ran this linker program.
Then before you go to people connection you put in this disk and you are in music connection.
On the one disk there is a Q-LINK FOUNT I don't know if that went with it. I my of copied that just to look at it and I put that font file in there I guess. I don't think it used that file but the font is built in to one of the files. I guess I used Super Snapshot to save the font file.
