As of tonight, with Keith's Dialog help, I was able to initiate a boot from a new QLink disk, use tcpser aliasing 5551212 to localhost:5190 to negotiate a connection to the QLink server code, bring up a dialog prompting for a screen name, enter the new screen name, validate the disk, go to the main menu, select People Connection, and chat in the Lobby. www.jbrain.com/vicug/gallery/qlink/DSC00012Tons of error checking still needs to be added, but at least I am able to do the above.

Congratulations! Qlink can be a pain in the butt with the details. The big stuff isn't too bad, but the details like that frigging dialog issue.... You realize you're only the second person to see that screen live in 10 years? And I was thinking, since they made a movie about the "EW" token, who plays us when they make the movie about the rest of them?! (Send the client an EW all by itself during the PC join to see what I'm talking about)

This is awesome news and great work guys! ;D I'd really like to get involved in this project as well, when I have some decent time to devote to it. How far is it from being able to be tested on a server by others, or for people to test on their own systems? I'm sure a few people would be up for doing whatever they can to help out with this project, and I would definitely like to contribute in some way. It would be a really great thing to have a system like q-link up and running again, especially for those of us who never had a chance to see this kind of setup running on the ol' commie. Keep it up! Cheers, Damian
