Hi All, I have just uploaded Telnet BBS Server 0.9a . This is a test version, exclusive to petscii.com . Please try it and let me know of any bugs or anything that suddenly does/doesn't work. You may also request new features in this thread. Major new features: 1) Hayes Emulation from the BBS or a terminal program! (Although I note that Jim Brain beat me to this by a couple of hours Supported commands: ATDT <ip address>xx.xx.xx.xx:<port> - Dial out ATH1 -take "modem" off-hook ATH or ATH0 -hang up ATI -returns Information string <1 second pause pause>+++ - return to comand mode ATD - go back online after +++ ATA - Answer call. If BBS doesn't send this in 10 seconds after a RING, (optionally) BBS Server will kill the connection. For now, these commands must appear on their own but I'm working on a way to have compound strings. All other "AT" commands are replied to blindly with "OK". 2) All of Fox's changes and recommendations, especially re-enabling DTR and RTS after a few seconds after a caller disconnects. I had to make some changes and move stuff though, so (Fox) please double-check that they still work. Many have been added to the Advanced screen so other Sysops can turn them off. 3) Eric Pearson's changes, that I know of. 4) A sensible config file that isn't sensitive to the order of entries. 5) A few other things that others on this forum were requesting , such sending "RING" and as having the server wait for the BBS to send "ATA" and so on. The program *and* source is in the ZIP, so be sure to unzip with folder names. home.ica.net/~leifb/bbs/bbs_09a_test.zip

Leif, if you'd like, I can send you my AT command parser. You'd have to convert from C to VB, but I don't think that is hard.
Also, in v.8b +, I see there is an option to disconnect on DCD OR DSR drop. How can a BBS drop DCD? I thought DCD is an input only (on the 64 side). Are there some BBS apps that switch DCD to an output and bring it low?

Are there some BBS apps that switch DCD to an output and bring it low? Hi Jim - sorry, I should make that a bit clearer. What that means is to hang up when DCD on the PC side is dropped. On my null modem cable, DCD goes back to RTS on the C64 side. I found that EBBS 3.3 drops RTS when the caller hangs up.
