If you are within a reasonable driving distance to the greater Atlanta area, I would like to make you aware of a new user group for computer history / collecting enthusiasts - the Historical Computer Society. The get-togethers will always be about fun and hanging out, plus showing and playing with cool old systems, presentations, open discussions, movies, and more. Though I am the founder, I intend that the group evolve into a stand-alone, self-governing, non-profit, and educational organization. I created a discussion group for the Historical Computer Society and there are a few of us there now. We are building a grassroots organization that way. This is a group to become a lot like MARCH ( www.marchclub.org/) for the greater Atlanta / southeast US region. A few of us had our first meeting in a restaurant yesterday, so I think that is a good start.
