Just saw this movie tonight. Very entertaining. I haven't been to the movies to see a science fiction in quite some time.. in fact I think I've only seen 1 movie this year and it was "Bridge to Terabithia." There just hasn't been anything I thought was worth seeing in a while.
I'm not a movie reviewer or anything. But for a science-fiction, The Last Mimzy is definatly something different and a welcome break from the stereotypical science fiction movies we seem to be getting all the time. THere are no alien monsters, no spaceships or space battles, etc. In fact, there really aren't any bad-guys at all. The movie is just an indulgence in discovery and exploration - my favorite part of science fiction. And if any of you have children, it will be even better. The little girl with the stuffed bunny reminded me of my little daughter who loves her stuffed bunny to death and would cry for weeks if somebody took it from her.
Oh.. and my favorite part would be when they find the intel-inside logo when analyzing the bunny with an electron microscope.. only the logo is actually imprinted at the molecular level.. then they bring in some representative from Intel for an explanation... which he couldn't give.. it was great.
