bought 2 Philips CD-I 210 but unfortunaly there are no remote or joystick with any of them... they seem to be very hard to find can i use another remote (maybe a universal remote?) or are there other types of pointing devices/joysticks/cableconverter to use with the CDI ?

I had the same problem. I bought one many years ago and scavenged around on the internet (I think ebay) and bought a wired controller.. It works just fine. But I quickly became disgusted at the total lack of software.
If you managed to locate Lemmings (one of the few decent titles made) I would love to get an ISO image of the disc!

Believe it or not, I only recently retirned my CD-I player to the attic along with most of my Commodore stuff. It had been in service in my house for about 12 years. The reason I was using it is because it can play VideoCDs and I have a large collection of VideoCDs. Before Divx became the defacto standard, VideoCD used to be quite popular on the pirate sites. Plus I made all my home movies and everything on the format. But as DVD players are so cheap now, and I bought one that plays Divx files (made by philips, it was like $60 at Wal-Mart) there was no longer any reason to keep the CD-i player around. I have like 6 games for it, but they all suck except for one, which is Tetris. It is actually one of the nices versions of tetris around. I think Tetris and Lemmings were the only decent games made for the platform.
