You have to load a lot with:
LOAD"PIPE",1,1
Don't for get the last 1 on the line.

I am not sure of this but I think the R, A, B, C, and D buttons are the joy stick 1 and the bilt in joy stick is 2. I think they had to hack the games to all work on joy stick 2.

Yeah, I noticed it on mine as well. It will work if a real keyboard is plugged in, but not if you're using the BASIC PROMPT keyboard. The only thing I can think of is that the ENTROPY demo is writing over the space in memory for the BASIC PROMPT program and causing the thing to crash. DTVTEAM opens and a few of the other extras, though.
>Just was wondering, how did you load the ENTROPY >Demo? When I try to load the file, it just hangs. Same >goes for, PIPE and FOOTBAG...

Unfortunately the joykbd driver has to work with the kernal and basic copied to ram, since it wasn't possible to hack the roms or get separate images for the joykbd mode. Entropy overwrites the basic when it loads, and thus it crashes when it goes back to the ready prompt. The solution is to write a small basic program that switches the roms back in and loads entropy:
0 poke1,55:load"entropy",1

I loaded all the extra events and demo. Now, what is GTA? I tried loading it, but it gives an error on 389 or something. Thanks again, Mike

Now that I know the keyboard works. I put the plug in my DTV. I drilled a 3/8 hole it was just a little to little. So I put a solding iron on the mettle plug wile I pushed on it and it went in. But it did not stick. So I super glued it in the hole. Here are 2 photos: I don't have the plug for the disk drive port. I have to buy one yet. Any one know how to do S/Video on it? I am sure it all ready puts out S/Video and converts it in to composite video. -Raymond Day

I just put the serial port on it. I only loaded a $ of a 1541. I only got 5 min. left to go to work. But I thought this data my help others.
2 Gnd 3 Atn = IECTAN under UP 4 Clk = IECCLK 5 Data = IECDATA 6 reset
I guess could put the reset on some place. Only so the drives reset with the C64-DTV
I test it out good tomorrow.

See my other post about connectors, I was hoping you could check it for accuracy. BTW, you used completely different spots for keyboard than I did. Where did you get your info?

Here is something to try without having to take apart the DTV: Turn on the joystick and select any game from the menu. After the game loads, press and hold the R button and tap reset while still holding down the R button. Immediately start jiggling the joystick back and forth (from left to right) as FAST as you can (while still holding down the R button). I've had to hit the reset button 3 or 4 times before this would work (while jiggling the joystick and holding down R of course). An easier way that I found was to start jiggling the joystick left and right (like you are playing speed-skating) sometime during the credits screen and keep doing it during the blue LOAD screen and the menu will pop up - you don't need to hold down a number of buttons. You may even be able to start the joystick wiggle when the blue screen first appears.

I managed to hack up my C64DTV pretty well. I got the keyboard and disk drive working, and played with a couple of other things. I took some pictures and wrote up a bit about it, maybe this will be of interest to someone. I'm working on some other things too, I'll post them when I get stuff working and finished up. BTW - This site will probably be kinda slow, I'm hosting the thing out of my basement on an old Pentium 166/MMX running Linux, and on a 'consumer grade' cable internet line. Also, it has a lot of large pictures because I didn't feel like resizing or properly organizing anything. I know the page looks terrible, but i just wanted to get things together quickly. Anyway - here's the site: www.retrohacker.org/c64dtvhack- Ian

I loaded commodore Sky Travel on it. It works very good. I want to load other stuff on it from the disk drive to test it out more.

Anyone try overclocking these things yet? There are two crystals on board. I assume one is for the ASIC and the other for video?
