...Nothing. I'm not sure the PC-side server program was behaving itself. It didn't show any activity when I requested a URL, and CTRL-Z didn't exit it properly. Also, I see that it's a quasi-DOS 16-bit program. Has it been tested under Win2K/XP? I'm running Win2K. My physical setup checks out, I use it for BBS Server, and Novaterm<->Hyperterminal works. And yes, I exited BBS Server first, and specified COM 1. Note that my cable has all the handshake lines as well, could that be a problem? If you could post some details about the baud rate etc, wil I be able to see some activity in Hyperterminal?

Yes, the program does run under XP, but it does require 16bit access to the serial ports. (Adminstrator access)
I need to re-write the program for 32bit, bit I needed something quick and dirty to move to concept father along.
I haven't tested it using COM1, but I will do so tonight.
I'm using a "Peeks" interface with a null modem cable. 600,n,.8.1. Hyperterm will connect to the 64 using "None" for Flow control on my setup.
I'm thinking CMLSERV could be the problem if CTRL-Z isn't working. Try CTRL-X and see if anything is transmitted to a terminal.
