I've been meaning to try QLink reloaded out again for a while, but have never really gotten around to it. The last time I tried, it was basically just an empty chatroom (with a window into IRC). Have any of the message boards or file libraries or anything been brought back up? Do you need any help getting some new content up and running?
Personally, I think that the reason qlink is so underused is the fact that there's so liitle there. Currently it's just a nostalgic IRC client for C64 users. That's a pretty impressive feat, but I suspect that it could be so much more.

For the time being it is just a framework. Many of us would like to see more content added and the hope is that actual content will result in people having a reason to connect to Q-Link Reloaded. When it will happen though, is anyone's guess. Like so many Commodore projects, Q-Link Reloaded was a labour of love and with so many projects on the go, things get neglected. It would be great to see a group of people get together to work on expanding Q-Link but that would require the go-ahead from those that hold the pink slip and thus far, there hasn't been much discussion about the matter. Until then it is doomed to be an impressive yet hollow shrine to what it once was.

At present, the thing holding it back is a web admin panel to administer the environment. The DB backend is MySQL, and setting up message boards, adding articles, positioning files, etc. is done via the DB. The real QLink also did not use the QLink client to make these changes.
PERL,PHP,Python would be great choices for the web screens.
The framework is all in Q-Link. But, it needs the admin piece to make it reasonable to turn on message boards, etc.
Yes, there's lots to do in the Q-Link code, but a lot more than people are using is sitting there waiting. It just needs the admin screens to make it work.
