I tried to make one of my daily runs and cannot connect to Qlink.
As far as I can tell, the domain quantum-link.org is total down (no website pulling up, nor the server).
I am hoping that this is just a technical problem with the domain name, and not the server being shut down. It would be nice to see the server get more activity and new changes happening on it. I think it is not too active only because nothing new is being done with it. Please don't shut down Qlink though. If it has to be done, can Jim at least please post the code so someone else can run it if need be?
Well, I am hoping it is a technical problem and will be restored shortly...

Ok, Qlink is NOT down. However after doing abit of work, I found that the DNS name IS.
For the moment, if you want to get on, you can. However you will need to substitute the DNS name for the IP address of 66.135.38.238.
Please note that I assume this is only a temporary issue. Also, there is no way to be sure that the server IP will not change. If it does, then this fix will not work either.
Hopefully the DNS name will be corrected soon and then everything back to normal...whew

It looks like the domain name has been allowed to expire. If someone needs money to register the domain, it would be nice if they asked.

Jeff has been busy dealing with moving to a new home so the domain renewal may have slipped his mind. I've got to email him about something else so I'll mention it when I do and hopefully everything will get sorted out shortly.

It looks like the IP for the server has now changed. That or the server is down as well. If anyone has any way to post the new IP, please post it here until the problem is resolved. Hopefully it will be corrected shortly....

Any new information concerning qlink reloaded? I am curious whether or not this project still exists.

The project definitely exists! Been running for quite a while now, only recently has it been down for a short while.
Not all of the options are implemented or working fully, but peopletalk works

It just say no carrier for a long time now. Looks like no one can get on any more. The IP here I did like this: atdt66.135.38.238:5190 still no carrier I did a ping to it and that comes back. It must be Q-Link Reloaded is not running on it or that's not the right IP. I tested out: qlink.quantum-link.org and quantum-link.org Both don't work. I guess because Jeff Moved. But: www.networksolutions.com/whois for quantum-link.org says in part: At lest it's renewed on Sep. 6, 2006 it looks like. But seems like it don't point to any IP address right now. In my tcpser-1.0rc10 I have the URL like this: qlink.quantum-link.org:5190 But from networksolutions.com/whois looks like there is not qlink.quantum-link.org but quantum-link.org it has. I guess when it's working I will have to change that URL name?

I don't believe the Q-Link client software passes through standard modem AT responses. Regardless, Q-Link is down at the present time so it is far more likely that the problem is NOT on your end.

Yeah, the software does exactly the minimum to get past the dialer and x.25 steps. So, AT is not gauranteed to work. However, the server is down, and that is overridingly the problem right now.

Yah! I have been regularly checking the forums here, since it is the only source on Qlink's status. It is good to hear Brain is around and working on it. We will just have to wait patiently for further updates...

It might be IP only until the dns issues get sorted out. IP is 66.135.38.238

If you go to: www.networksolutions.com/whois for quantum-link.org right now it says a name of "R Lee Chambers" has it. Jeff had it before and looks like because he was busy moving he did not renew it in time and some one knows that lots go to quantum-link.org and snatched it up! I am sure every link you click on the new page quantum-link.org gets this guy who like stoled the quantum-link.org name money! It has all sorts of links on that page now. Some for commodore that just goes to a search and then I guess makes "R Lee Chambers" money. Has other stuff on Travel, Finance, Home, and others. I guess they call this guy a domain "squatter" and if you wanted to get back quantum-link.org you would have to pay lots of money. I guess a $1000 or something like that. If I know more I could of got it and gave it to Jeff when he had time. Looks like they will have to think up of a new qlink reloaded name to = the IP now. It's to bad about this. But there are ways around it going to the IP or a new name when some one sets it up.
