I used Bo Zimmers geoBEAP and it works good making any .D81 type file under GEOS. This 1581 Q-Link boot disk is the one I patched on the phone with Jim Collette before he put the patch together. I am not sure if this is the latest one. Maybe not because in the main menu going to CSC don't go there. It goes to CIN. This is all set up for 2400 baud and even works with VICE! at 2400 baud. You have to got on and put a new name in or just copy your 18/15 Q-Link track or sector to it. This one has the CBM 40 block file on it so things will not wight over track 18. You can save files to this too. It don't see it as full. The D81 is zipped up at: rayday.no-ip.com/internet/Commodore/mywebpages.comcast.net-raymondday/q-link/Q-LINK-SL24.zipIf any one knows how to fix the main menu error let me know. Or it just my be better to do this with the patch. But not sure how to make the CBM file. I guess some one can look at this and find out how to do it. I all so have Omega-Q on this. It's goes nice with Q-Link uses the same F keys in the same way as Q-Link. I think this is a Version 3 Q-Link disk. Does any one know how to find out what version it is?

I got on with VICE and name a name after I made the D81 of this. But with VICE if I go any place it will come back and say:
"Your telephone connection to Q-Link has been broken.
Press F5 to return to BASIC"
It loads slow too in VICE. No JiffyDOS on it.
But you can see the menu to go in PC or Super Q. So Super Q is built right in to this Q-Link Boot disk.

Ray,
You said this worked with VICE, did you mean also WINVICE 1.16? I tried and could not get it to work with it.
Also your disk loads to the 'f1 to connect' screen, you might already have qdata located there.
Sincerely,
Jeffery S. Stone jefferystone@yahoo.com
P.S. To clear the qdata (to make it like a new disk), copy qdata (track 18/sector 5) from a new (never used) qlink disk. I'm pretty sure you know that, just odd that it goes to 'f1 to connect' screen instead of asking to preview qlink first.

Yeah, I did the same thing using the 2400 baud patch on a d64 in vice a week or so ago.. It's a no go, and I'm pretty sure it's because of a bugged NMI in vice. I think it was spoken about in a different thread on these forums.

I tested this good. It gets on to the new Q-Link right in VICE 1.16 Even lets you pick a name to use, but after you click on to go some place in the main menu and wait for it to load then Q-Link will say: “Your telephone connection to Q-Link has been broken. Press F5 to return to BASIC” There was one time were it stopped working so the boarder would not even flash when pressing VICE Page Up. That is RESTORE on a real 64. I re-downloaded it from www.petscii.com/qlink/index.html and went by the step-by-step again and VICE 1.16 worked again so I could log on Q-Link with this D81. I can only guess it's some setting in VICE or VICE is not using SwiftLink like a real SwiftLink.

Would an IDE64-friendly version be possible?

The linker can't find the dir on a IDE64.
I have the IDE64 and used a flash card and copied the Q-Link file from a 1541 but the Linker can't find the dir to link the files so you could boot Q-Link.
The IDE64 did not like my FD2000. I wanted to copy the Linker from it. It could get a listing of files but just locked when starting to copy. It would put the name on it but with a * next to it so you would have to validate it.
