I've googled unsuccessfully for this, so WinVICE experts, now is your chance to shine.
It's been suggested that remapping the Function keys on the PC (us) keyboard might be a good idea, as then they could be physically moved so that the standard Qlink keyboard overlay could be used with the PC keyboard. (Seems that most fit!)
Anyone know how we can do the following keyboard map?
F2=F3 F3=F5 F4=F7
And while we're at it, solve this little annoyance as well.
- = + + = -

On the one hand, I am fine with having VICE users utilize the service, but I've had a TON of support questions about getting VICE to work, or lockups in VICE. Some of the comments imply that I should fix VICE, but I think they miss the point.

(1.16 is pretty easy) <SARCASM>What do you mean you can re-write VICE too?</SARCASM> *smirk* Jeff

The keymap is editable. (Dump the keymap - and open the file in notepad - whatever.)
The scancodes I can make sense of - but figuring out the column / row to remap the scancode to is, well, what I'm trying to figure out. (Don't have much experience here.)
I'm playing with it though to see what I can come up with.

ehh no sweat.. Learned all about the nifty keyboard mapping stuff when I did my 128D keyboard to USB interface Here's the modifications to the file.. (I also think it'll be on the Qlink website shortly too.. Have fun.. edit win_sym_us.vkm and change the following lines.. Rename it to something else when you save it. Then launch VICE and go to the Keyboard options and select the new file.. 12 5 3 8 /* Minus -> Minus */ 13 5 0 8 /* Equal -> Plus */ 60 0 5 8 /* F2 -> F3 */ 61 0 6 8 /* F3 -> F5 */ 62 0 3 8 /* F4 -> F7 */
