I see messages from Jim telling how Keith helps out on the Q-link rebuilding.
The little info. I got from reading is Keith at one time did this him self but never got it working. Now with Jim doing it they are getting it working.
Am I right?
I am looking so for word to logging back on to Q-Link after over 10 years not being on it.

Keith got it working, but I think the extreme demands of reverse engineering the protocol and the lack of others to help took it's toll.
Keith actually implemented a server that provided new user app, login, PC, menus and text files, and gateway service. I think even Hangman was implemented.
I don't believe Keith's implementation had sliding windows or protocol restarts and such, but it was functional. Up until last week, my server lagged Keith's in functionality.
Still, the goal is not to one up each other. Keith's information has been instrumental in my work. For his part, my implementation has allowed us to move farther into the protocol.
But, the majority of credit goes to Keith for the protocol, you for the saved traces, and Keith Elkin for the saved videotape.
I'm just the code slinger.

And what a code slinger you are! Guys, this is *PROOF* that this community can have ANYTHING they want for their machines, *IF* everyone will work together in cooperation. So many projects fall down because someone starts something cool, then half of c.s.c takes a verbal crap on the idea. Many have stepped up to the plate to offer their skills to this project, and all involved should be proud of the accomplishment! (Now everyone give yourself a pat on the back and while you're at it, Jim too! ) Jeff
