The initial dialog box asking for the screen name is almost working.
I get the dialog, and can enter in the screen name. However, when I go to the main menu, the blue input line remains at the bottom of the screen.
SOOO CLOSE.

Do you have joystick control of the menu to enter other areas? [Looking forward to it!]

Well, I was able to hit the menu before I added the login code, and go to CIN or JFF or PC.

Well, I'm officially stuck. In spits of Keith's attempts to help, I can't quit the dialog entry field . Without a dialog to enter the user screen name, it's kinda tought to do stuff.

I'm working on my C# server again. I will try and answer this question.
The simplest one, and it's not the right answer is: When a user connects, assign them an account code and prompt them to disconnect. Then when they reconnect, the account code will match, so no dialog. This is actually what qlink did with new users. They actually manually called back each new account and confirmed the registration.
However, they also used that same dialog system to do marketing surveys when you signed on, and other such things. So, it CAN be done to go from a dialog to the main menu, we're just missing something.

Ok, I have your answer:
When you do a ZQ dialog, the dialog does not 'close' on user input. This is to allow the server to send back an error if the input is invalid. To 'close' the dialog, you must send some other dialog type with the SAME NAME as the text dialog.
-> ZM1234567890 <- ZO1234567890 -> ZT1234567890\x90Enter screen name. -> ZQ1234567890\x90ello\x90Max 10 chars <- ZA1234567890\x90Keith 2001 -> ZT1234567890\x90That screen name is ok -> ZZ1234567890\x90Press F5 to continue <- D2 -> DO
Now it will go to the main menu.
Normally a dialog box is closed when a user makes input and must be reopened with another ZM command, but an exception is made in the case of ZQ because of the need for server side validation of the input.

Looks like things are progressing nicely!
Wonder how many users People Link can really support?
