I had a thought the other day. At work, we have this old Lucent phone system and everything has to be programmed through a dumb terminal. The terminal is where the phone system is and it is a very inconvenient and uncomfortable place to go. I was thinking the other day that since there are some computers in there, maybe I could hook the serial port up to the thing and run BBS Server so I could telnet to the beast from my office. But the thing isn't looking for any modem commands, it just looks for a DTR signal from the terminal, I think. Do you think this would work?

Sounds like that should work fine. You might need to tinker with the settings to get it to connect properly though.
