Well I called but my I kept getting a dropped carrier. I may have to test my line or replace my socket. At least the attic run is done.

Well I called but my I kept getting a dropped carrier. I may have to test my line or replace my socket. At least the attic run is done. Here's a "tip" that might help you out... When connecting to a BBS running All American BBS software, you need to press RETURN once you've established a connection. That's what the software uses to determine your baud rate. So if you just sit there and wait and don't press anything, it may detect the WRONG baud rate, resulting in garbage, or it may just give up and hang up on you, thinking that there's no one there. So... As soon as you get the CONNECT, CONNECT 1200, or CONNECT 2400 message, press RETURN, and you should have no problems. I think I'm going to post this "tip" on my website, since a lot of people seem to be having the same issue... :-) If you haven't seen the website, you can check it out here: hometown.aol.com/cottonwoodbbs

Good point as I remember finding that out the hard way back in the day. But I think it is a problem with my line or the calling card. I can try again later or tomorrow. I did get my account up and running but even at 300 I was getting kicked. I will figure it out but it might be my 1670 acting up. I have some more modems to test so wish me luck he he.

I sent you a private message here, so please read that... I'll be up for several more hours tonight... So if you are able to log in without getting "booted", feel free to page me. :-) -Andrew
