No, but Image yes. You can download Cnet 64 from the internet or from Addixion BBS. I was always partial to Cnet 10.0 myself, as that was the first bbs program I connected to.

I know Image, centipede, EBBS are working but want to try something different. I ordered the CNET disks from RMS.

Interesting. I ran into Jim Selleck on the Yahoo group "80sbbs" or something, just reading the thread last night, yay insomnia. It should be on the front page still. He was one of the Cnet programmers. I think he was in charge of CNet DS2 as well...? I'm fuzzy on the details. But anyway, he had a nice discussion about how CNet 13 was supposed to be multitasking and more than one user could use the board at the same time, like Centipede nowadays with Mo's dual-line board. Too tired to verify info at the moment, but I pointed him towards the telbbs web site, which won't resolve unfortunately (I didn't know that at the time). Anyway, I just remembered MadMax on #c64friends IRC chat (irc.eskimo.com) was running some verison of CNet 64 very briefly in hopes that it'd be the HQ for an Aussie warez board. I logged in once or twice, might want to catch him on and ask about it. I have 1 incomplete disk side of CNet (v10, maybe? It's been forever since I looked at it), sadly I never got into CNet until recently, CNet Amiga is good software. Is it the CNet Amiga software you bought, I'm assuming? RMS.... well, my initials are RNS, so it can't be me you bought it from. Who's this person? *yawns, bedgoes* Happy Fourth of July, people who celebrate it. Happy July fourth, people who just have it happen with no specific significance.

Interesting. I ran into Jim Selleck on the Yahoo group "80sbbs"... Here's the thread, but you have to be a member to view it: groups.yahoo.com/group/80sBBS/message/3352Here is the text of his first post. There's a number of subsequent replies in which he gives more detail; I hope I'm not doing something I shouldn't by re-posting it here. Just thought it would be appropriate for the site, and this topic. Oh, and I think it was Michael Bendure (again, spelling?) that did CNet DS2... remembering a little more as I go along. It'd be on Bo Zimmerman's BBS web page, at www.zimmers.net, specifically: CNet 64: zimmers.net/bbs/cnbbs.htmlCNet 128: zimmers.net/bbs/c8bbs.htmlCNet DS2: zimmers.net/bbs/cdbbs.html(this page again lists Jim as a programmer; why am I remembering the name Michael Bendure (spelling? is this the correct name to begin with?) in relation with DS2? Maybe Selleck passed the torch to Bendure. CNet Features List: zimmers.net/bbs/docs/ds2fet.txt

Im working on changes to the VICE code to allow incoming connections to VICE, which will allow you to run C-Net and Image from VICE directly. Its coming along pretty well. Will keep you all posted.

C-Net 64 v10.0 is now working under VICE. Check it out at cnet.servebbs.com (port 23). Use cgterm of course. The work to get this thing going was a hack to the source code, and a windows C# program that bridges VICE and an external connection. Honestly, it was a pain in the ... but, hey, it was fun.
Note that you *must* disconnect your terminal after you log off. As-is, C-Net wont actually disconnect you, so it will go through the logoff process, then it will sense your connection and begin a new session. Am working on that.
YES - the menus are bland and boring, and I dont think its even configured for message bases yet. (I could use any and all cnet 64 disks you guys have, boot, pfiles, etc - the stock 10.0 config program seems to crash for some reason so Im really looking for v11)
Im not going for a *good working BBS* just yet. This was really a proof that it can be done. But soon I will bring up a BBS for good running C-Net. Id like to get Image working next, but theres still some technical problems with Image that I havent yet worked out.
Stay tuned for more.

BTW, anything related to C-Net (disks, manuals, etc) would be appreciated. Im interested in v10, 11, and 12 (and all the odd versions between).

Head over to www.portcommodore.com for some Image and CNet files. Also, I have most of the Image BBS Programmer's Reference Guide available at my web site.

Also, got some comments about CG detection under CNet 64. CNet 10 wont use CG until after you login the next time after setting your term parameters. It sticks to ASCII until then. So if you want color and graphics, just log out and back in. (which is sparse anyway, since i havent done much with the board other than get it working - its pretty plane-jane).
Also - I keep running into a crash when using the SU program to configure CNet. Its when its trying to read the conifguration files. Until then, I cant get any subboards up and working. If anyone knows whats up with that, let me know here.
Thanks

Ok, found out the SU config problem... i simply wasnt loading the program properly and so the ML wasnt being loaded. A sys call killed it.
BUT... Its been a loooong time. I still cant seem to get subboards working, and i know its something in the configuration. What the config program has is something like:
Board Name Access Disk Drive Sys General 255 9 0 -1
Does anyone know what the -1 means?
And access, if I remember correctly was bit-based, meaning that rather than putting Access group number (1-9) you had to instead use 8 bits such that group 1, 3 and 7 could go there so it would be 69 (bit 1+bit 3+bit 7) or something similar.

I'm not sure why, but the E command (Edit terminal parameters) gives me an error message that I'm not cleared for that function, while I was a new user.

IIRC that's the way it worked in Image. Curious to know if 0 means something else. home.comcast.net/~r_sherwood/bbs/imageprg-chap1.html#accesslevelsTaking what I know about Image, yes. Each access level was controlled by a bit in a group. I'm really lousy at math, but that'll explain how the access levels work. 1023 gave access to all groups. Interestingly, 1024 removed access for all groups.

Excellent Pinacolada! That was it. Without any kind of manual, and time doing its damage, I was really uncertain what was wrong. Thanks though - boards are up now.
