Hi all, Anyone still reading this forum? I've been learning Fritzing the last couple of days. Free tool for PCB design: fritzing.org/home/Anyone else tried it? I'd like to make a couple of C64 carts with it and wondering if anyone's got a parts template or sample project that could be useful.

Anyone still reading this forum? I still regularly visit. Hmm, I'll study it. I have a SCCAN member who's been trying to re-create a C= cart. So far, with his limited knowledge, he hasn't been able to lay out one. I have no C= templates to offer, but I've made a number of double-sided PCBs with Fritzing start to finish and can say that it's worked great. I really liked the 3d modelling capabilities it has and it made it really easy to upload the designs to the fab shop, which in my case was OSHPark. My advice is to spend the time to get to know the software and use the schematic functionality to build up your design first - a lot of people like to just lay out the board, components and traces "ad hoc" - which it will let you do, but it is so much nicer to have it help with making sure that you've got everything connected properly according to your schematic diagrams. It will cut down on the number of bodges and cut traces you end up requiring, or complete re-runs in the end.
