Hi folks,
I just wondered lately if it would be possible to build a monitor/TV emu.
Imagine having a bunch of old computers which would output to TV via RF modulators or RGB/VGA monitors. Since monitors and CRT TVs tend vanish from our households, it would be nice to have a little hardware that could emulate the monitor. You could then connect your old machine to this box and have it redirect its output to a modern machine connected to it via USB or whatever.
Since I am not a hardware guy, I would like to hear your opinions on this. Is this a mere dream or would it be possible to build a "RGB-to-USB" or "TV-to-USB" adapter that lets you see the display of your retro computer in a window on your modern desktop?
Ideas and suggestions welcome...

Power Acoustik PT-706CM 8 in. Headrest Monitor ?? I did not think of doing my retrocomputing hobby in the back of my car ;-) But thanks for this suggestion! BTW: I found that there are USB videograbbers and VGA to S-Video converters out there. I think I will try a combination of those and report my efforts...
