www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_C64.aspxThis one COULD be the real deal and actually make an apperance! Really what should have been done years ago, keep the breadbin case design, give it USB, SD/flash card reaser slots,DVD drive, various modern display connectors, wifi,6 channel sound, network port and combine that with a decent C64 emulator and Workbench 5 OS whilst still allowing you to install Windows alongside it should you wish.

You know, I'm not so sure about this idea. On the one hand it does seem good to see our beloved breadbox make a comeback, but OTOH, sometimes I really wish they would just let the Commodore name die. Over the years there have been many attempts to hijack the name/brand by companies that were either pure vapourware or were selling cheap junk with the Commodore chickenlips on it. (The "Commodore" mp3 players etc.) Unless the name/assets/IP is purchased by the original developers then there is no actual connection ith the "Commodores" of today and the Commodore I grew up with.
As for this specific product: The case is interesting, I will grant that, but all this really is, is a PC stuffed into a retro-styled case. Sure, it will come with Workbench 5 (but there are no details about this mythical OS just yet) and a C64 emulator, but who doesn't have access to a quality Commodore emulator these days anyway?
The more I think about it, the more products like this make me sad. The 64DTV was an innovative product, but stuffing a PC in a C64-inspired case is just ... meh.

Also you can get the same result with the USB adaptor you can fit to your breadbin keyboard turning it into USB keyboard.

I always preferred the 64C case myself. Wonder if that will come next?
