I know this may be off topic, but I bought a Asus 701 netbook computer a while back. Its a fantastic little computer with a Linux operating system. I was so impressed with it, I decided to purchase another unit off Ebay and the prices are almost at parity with what I paid when Asus was selling the netbook.
I thought thats amazing. Its a great computer to use on long haul flights (all international flights out of Australia are long haul). I may be wrong but the original Asus netbook seems to be highly collectable.

I have a couple of them and it's just a shame that the screen is not bigger. They should have put the speakers somewhere else instead of taking up room in the lid.
Also 4GB is not a lot of disk space for anything.
Mine runs great on Windows 2000 apart from the webcam which I never use anyway.
I also have one running a great, fast booting Linux OS called xPud which is installed on an SD card and that leaves the entire 4GB SSD for movies that my kids can watch on car journeys etc.
I think it's amazing that people are so dumb nowadays though as the prices of these things is now comparable to full sized laptops at times yet they soak it up and buy them anyway.

The 701 was so popular to modders too -- adding extra USB ports, bluetooth, additional memory, etc. There is an ASUS forum on this. Loading it with the smallest Win XP was also the fad replacing the factory installed Linux I have one but it is the pearl colored one which I am no too crazy about . I am using an ACER notebook now with 160GB on it..love this d**n thing!

I had a 701, I bought it new. But I sold it after a few months because I found it a bit unusable. The main issue was the small screen size and I couldn't get more than about 20 words a minute on that keyboard. Don't get me wrong, I like the concept. I just should have waited for the newer models to come out. Oddly enough, I thought the CPU speed was plenty. I bought an old 12" iBook G4 instead.. actually paid a little less and it is a far more usable computer for me.
