Still think the podcast is too long and too big to listen to, even in stages. Tonnes of great info but would be nice if it was a bit more bitesized. 5 hours is a lot of info! though I do love the lancashire accent contrasting with the american chaps

Still think the podcast is too long and too big to listen to, even in stages. Honestly, I hear what you're saying but most of the feedback we get suggests sticking to the current format. If that were to change.......... We do add the timestamps to help people like yourself who want to listen in sections or even skip whole parts. Not my parts though obviously.

I really like length of the podcast. I could deal with it if it were split into separate files for each segment, but I'd hope you still put out as much material every month IF you ever made such a change to the format.

Not my parts though obviously. thats fair enough if most people like it,but "they" say that an hour is the most people can listen to without drifting off. Quite a few gaming podcasts I listen to run in to 2 hours or more and I end up switching off before the time is up. Especially as they tend to like the sound of their own voice and end up being very self indulgent. The retro gaming roundup's strength is it is so varied and each section is a podcast in its own right. just wish there was a function on the ipod to jump to timestamps in podcast!

I'll just add another argument for the vote to split the podcast into smaller elements.
Blackberry!!! (or maybe just any old PDA phone)
Many data plans for PDA phones refuse to download such a large file. I'm sure I'm not the only one who downloads and listens to podcasts all with the convenience of one device.

For the current show we've put up 16kb a version for those with limited plans, bandwidth or devices.
We'll see how popular they are over the next few shows. Obviously the sound quality takes a hit but it's only 40MB.

Miner2049er, just wanted to offer my thanks for the show. The insanely long episodes are great - I don't know anyone else that puts this much time and effort into a single episode. It works great on my iPod, and I just hit 'pause' whenever I get out of the car and continue the rest of the episode another day One episode will usually last me over a week!
