Flash Attack would be a great candidate for a network game. www.portcommodore.com/flashatk.php?path=main-cbmidx-flashidxI had been considering writing this for the Commodore DTV in 256 colors.. but lack of network hardware would mean you'd have to have two DTVs directly connected via userport or something. I wrote this game under Linux/Xwindows about 5 years ago. The concept is pretty easy to code, and the game is very fun. It is remeniscent of a modern real-time strategy.

Nah.. I'm not really doing any C64 specific coding anymore. The only reason I'm back in the scene at all is simply for DTV stuff, of which I have specific uses and interest. Besides, the DTV would be much better for Flash Attack due to the DMA system, the high-color modes, and LOTS of extra RAM for having huge terrain maps and stuff.
Not that it couldn't be done nicely on the C64, but just not as nicely.

Cool suggestion. I had forgotten about Flash Attack when I looked at two-player games.
We've got a lot of momentum going with Weather War though. My intention is to publish a lot of what we learn along the way, and hopefully this can be re-applied to other games.

Flash Attack 64 is already working, as demonstrated by Larry Anderson at CommVEx v2. All you need is two C64's and the cabling between the user ports. Darn! I lost at that game!
