Finally. Two TDA3810 arrived. The TDA3810 integrated circuit provides spatial (widened stereo image), stereo and pseudo-stereo (artificial stereo from a mono source) sound for use in various equipment, such as radio and television. I couldn't wait to test one out. I wired it for pseudo stereo. And here are the inevitable MP3 sample sounds It's one minute from the DTV menu tune. Original monoPseudo stereoNot too bad. Could easily be fitted inside a C64.

Are you sure you named the mp3's correctly? Maybe it's just me but the mono sounds better than the psuedo stereo?

I think he named them correctly. The mono is definitely mono and the pseudo stereo is definitely not. But yeah, the pseudo stereo sample comes out with some distinct popping and crackling. Still, pretty cool concept. I'd love to see how this progresses.

I hear no popping or crackling at all. I have tested the files in several media players. If you happen to use BSplayer, don't. It sucks at playing MP3. At least when I last used it last year.
Have you tried to connect the sound from your own DTV to your stereo equipment or recording it with your computer? The sound isn't very clean from the beginning.
