Been nosing through some computer related quotes and wondered what were peoples favourites?
Its a great industry for leaders and figureheads to make fools of themselves with their thoughts on were things were going or how people would be computing in the future. Also plenty of amusing ones.
Two i found today made me laugh:
"There are two major products that came out of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX. We do not believe this to be a coincidence. ~Jeremy S. Anderson"
and here is one to annoy Mac owners:
"The best way to accelerate a Macintosh is at 9.8m/s/s ~Marcus Dolengo"

"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." -- Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943
and
"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home." --Ken Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corp., 1977
and my favorite.. (Gates denies saying this..)
......"640k should be enough for anybody.'' Bill Gates, 1981

In 1997 Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Computer Corporation (now Dell, Inc.) was asked what he would do if he were CEO of Apple and he replied, "I'd shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders." In 2006, Apple Computer, Inc.'s market capitalization surpassed Dell's.
Whoops.

The bill gates one I always liked, but he always denies he said it or he said something similar but it has been taken out of context.
Here's a famous one thats spookily accurate:
"Video games don't affect us, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids we'd all be running around darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music."

Although that quotation is widely accredited to one Kristian Wilson, the supposed CEO of Nintendo who may or may not have worked for Nintendo but most certainly was never the CEO, it was in fact a joke written and delivered by English comedian Marcus Brigstocke. You can read Brigstocke's take on the matter here. Hope that clears things up.

"Video games don't affect us, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids we'd all be running around darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music." I've seen that on a t-shirt, I was tempted to buy it but thought better of it
