Happy New year one and all! Thought would kick off 2006, by seeing what podcasts the Retrobits listeners (and the Petscii guys!) also listen to. People might find a new podcast they have never heard of but like the sound of. Okay I listen to about 4 regularly. Retrobits - of course! VideogameNews Radio - 3 mad americans chatting about videogames and the industry in general. very entertaining PC Gamer - podcast done by the PC Gamer magazine guys C64 Take Away - great podcast if you like listening to C64 sid tunes and remixes

Retrobits is the only podcast I've ever managed to listen to all the way through and I must admit that I don't get this whole podcasting craze. I'm not really into talk radio either so I guess it figures. At home the TV is usually on and in the car I prefer to have music on or I get distracted. As for walking about or taking transit, I prefer not to impair my hearing with an iPod or Walkman. Any other opportune moments seemed to get taken up by reading. Maybe I would get into podcasts if I had a time when listening was convenient and I wasn't doing/couldn't do anything else. Perhaps I need an mp3 player in the shower...

I'm curious as to when people listen to podcasts? Do you do anything else while you listen?

Sometimes I'll take Retrobits on the road if I'm looking at a long drive to a customer, otherwise I take the time to listen at the office.. (When I should be working on customer machines. <smirk>)

I listen to podcasts usually in my lunch hour at work or if I am walking into town to grab a bite to eat. Otherwise either in bed at home or when on the train or bus.
If i dont have to concentrate on anything then a podcast is great, otherwise it will distract me from the job in hand!

Hi. most of the podcasts I listen to weekly have already been sited by other repliers, but I have to stress Off the Hook and Off the Wall are both VERY good. Both are radio shows broadcasted in NYC and recordings are shared out via a podcast, and Off the Hook has been around since 1984. Both can be hit at www.2600.comJust wanted to throw that out there ... Sam

but I have to stress Off the Hook and Off the Wall are both VERY good. They're on my player in the queue. I read the 2600 a couple of times and there was some great stuff in there, but some weird useless stuff too. I guess it depends on what you want out of it. A lot of the telephone stuff is irrelevant in the UK anyway.
