Hopefully i'm not blasted for asking this question here, cant seem to find an answer on the world wide web. Ok saw a great deal on two 80hr Tivo's so I grabed them..Well needless to say they are actually DirecTivo units. My question is can I modify these to use my regualr cable as my older unit does or shall I research refund options..

I was wondering why this type of question hadn't happened already.... This forum is for the C64 Direct to TV, (as seen on dtvhacking.info (upper left corner)) not the Direct TV, or Tivo units. sorry! Jeff

Oddly enough, I have an answer for your Tivo problem. I work at Best Buy and have worked in Home Theater. You say that the units that you got are for DirecTV. Sorry to say, they will not work with cable. What you COULD do is get you a dish for your units and get DirecTV. I made the switch from cable to DirecTV and man am I glad! I don't know about in your area, but where I live, cable is actually a little more expensive than DirecTV. Check out the pricing and see what you come up with. If you are not interested in DirecTV, then I would look into returning them. Dark Vulcan
