Since the directv idiots are camping in #DTV and no-one has ops, I've set up a new channel, complete with op-bot and registered with chanserv.
The new channel is on Efnet, #c64DTV
Right now, the only file on the fileserv there is the dtvhacking dox from the DTV, but I will be adding sourcecode, text files, and anything anyone wants to contribute. (email six@darklordsofchaos.com)

Chanfix or something. Whatever it is came back in and re-opped my bot after it got dumped.
Not that I know a lot about IRC outside of sitting in a channel, I just used the thing on Polaris to "register" it.
Seems to have worked.

Huh, all the chanfix references I see claims that you don't have to register.
How did you "register"?

>Huh, all the chanfix references I see claims that you >don't have to register. Same here. I read up a bit when I was trying to figure out what to do about the other channel.
>How did you "register"? I'm not sure if it even has an effect, but on Polaris, Chanserv, Register Channel. I kind of did it just to see what would happen.
I don't claim to know anything about IRC except from the most basic user's end, but the Polaris connection did get re-opped after it got dropped. (twice now)

The polaris stuff probably had no real effect (probably useful on dalnet or such) - the efnet 'chanserv' equivalent is called chanfix: www.irchelp.org/irchelp/ircd/chanfix/ It does do a good job where I've seen it jump in.
