I just got my DTV today.. (Finally) My wife bought me two of them for Christmas.. Amazing as I never even told her I was planning to get one. Anyway, so that is one to keep and one to hack. Besides that, after playing with it a bit I have developed a few more questions.
1) Are some of these games modified from original? Specifically, one or two of them appear to be using more than the standard 16 color palette. Maybe I'm just imagining things.
2) What do the 4 buttons labeled A, B, C, & D do? I haven't been able to make them do anything.
3) I've seen the "moire" effect I have been hearing people talk about. Is this what some people are calling interference, or do some people get this effect and interference? In certain games, like Firelord, the effect makes it appear almost as if certain parts of the game background are cycling through colors. Will this moire effect also exist once I make the S-video hack?
4) I've heard people talk about save routines being removed from the kernel. Does this refer just for device #1.. or does that mean when I get my serial port hacked in that I won't be able to save to my disk drive also?
Just a few comments along with my questions.. What is up with this cliff diving game? Am I correct in assuming your score is based on how well you land on your head? What is the highest score possible? I've only been able to achieve 90.
I really like the Splatform game and the tinyrynth games... they are actually pretty neat for being easer eggs.. Kind of like them better than some of the "main" attractions.
